<p>The City of Baraboo seeks a qualified LTE individual to perform various duties within the Public Works Department. Applicants must be 18 years of age on first day of employment. Job requires working outside in adverse weather conditions. Position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 or more pounds occasionally.</p> <p>Supervision: Under direction of the Street Superintendent</p> <p>Hours: Typical workday will begin at 6:00am and end at 4:00pm. Hours may be adjusted as tasks require. Work week is Monday through Thursday unless notified in advance. Annual hours not to exceed 480 hours per year.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Safe and effective use of tools and materials used in day-to-day DPW operations. </li><li>Assist with setup of work zones and special events involving City of Baraboo streets, alleys, and parking lots. </li><li>Crack fill streets. </li><li>Repair potholes. </li><li>Brush chipping and trimming. </li><li>Asphalt and/or concrete projects. </li><li>Mowing or trimming. </li><li>Wash and clean equipment - inside and out. </li><li>Facility and grounds maintenance. </li><li>Observe safety precautions so as to prevent accidents. </li><li>Follow all guidelines and policies established by the City of Baraboo. </li></ul> <p>Peripheral Duties:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Daily maintenance of assigned equipment and tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Upkeep of buildings and grounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Obey all City of Baraboo policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.Desired Minimum Qualifications:</p> </li></ol> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>High school diploma or GED or a combination of education and experience equal to a high school graduation.</p> <p>Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Understand and follow oral and written instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently or in a team setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees and the public.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate hand and power tools, and a variety of vehicles, used routinely in Public Works Operations.Certification and Licenses:</p> </li><li> <p>Possession of a valid State of Wisconsin Driver's License.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a good driving record.</p> </li></ol>
