Perdue Foods is a leader in Premium Proteins and Perdue AgriBusiness ranks among the top US grain companies.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Tom Milker collects semen from the tom turkeys and to maintain tom turkey barns and care for the tom turkeys.</p> <p>Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Catch tom turkeys weighing up to 75 pounds as needed and place their feet into clamps by lifting. </li><li>Milk tom turkeys by applying pressure to vent area and pinching phallus. </li><li>Draw semen into a collection vial using a 3" rubber hose to create a vacuum by the siphon method. </li><li>Transfer semen from vial to beaker, maintaining a constant controlled temperature. </li><li>Maintain tom houses and care for tom turkeys by feeding, watering, etc. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education</p> <p>HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.</p> <p>Experience Requirements</p> <p>Experience Preferred</p> <p>Strong reading, communication, math, writing, and analytical skills are required.</p> <p>Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>In stationary positions or moving for up to 12 hours on a wet, moist, dry, greasy, smooth, rough, and uneven floors which includes concrete or litter surfaces with up to two (2) to four (4) hours in a single interval. </li><li>Ability to work from various ladders. </li><li>Exposure to and work in temperatures of<0 to >100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient humidity, or dry exposure, noise exposure of <90 db, and light intensity range of <50 to >100 foot candles. </li><li>Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depends upon the task being performed. </li><li>Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. </li><li>Exposure to chlorinated water <50 ppm, ammonia vapors >5 ppm, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, salt and other chemicals found in a poultry breeder operation. </li><li>Must wear and/or use protective and safety equipment required for the job. </li></ul> <p>Perdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
