<ul> <li>Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, switches, and routers. </li><li>Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security. </li><li>Trains users on software and equipment usage. </li><li>Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. </li><li>Develops and communicates standards for use, operation, and security of network, personal computers, and data. </li><li>Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware and operations problems. </li><li>Researches and evaluates new technologies. </li><li>Manages email system. </li><li>Manages access to Internet and firewall. </li><li>Installs and tests software upgrades. </li><li>Collects and analyzes network and disk utilization. </li><li>Assists network users via Helpdesk </li><li>Develops and maintains knowledge of the agency's local and wide area cable plants. </li><li>Uses cable diagnostic tools to identify and determine the nature of problems of failures within the system. </li><li>Acts as liaison with providers to ensure proper support and to maintain system availability. </li></ul> <p>Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Services plus 2 years experience in network environment, Or CNE/MCSE plus 3 years in a network environment, OR 5 years in network environment and 1 year in a leadership position.</p>
