<p>Description</p> <p>Department: Athletic Department</p> <p>Job Status: Open until filed</p> <p>FLSA Status: Salaried</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Athletics</p> <p>Grade/Level: n/a</p> <p>Amount of Travel Required: Seasonal</p> <p>Work Schedule: Full Time</p> <p>Positions Supervised: n/a</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Although the position is primarily for the role of coaching the sprints, hurdles and relays the Assistant is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to recruiting, schedule, training, monitoring academic progress, promotions, fundraising and coaching team members. The Assistant is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Benedictine College, the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart), and the NAIA.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Assisting in all aspects of the coaching and management of the track & field program, </li><li>Recruiting and scouting in accordance with the NAIA, Heart and Benedictine College policies and procedures, </li><li>Train and coach members of the program, </li><li>Assist in budget management, fundraising, and alumni development, </li><li>Supporting the academic and personal development of all athletes, </li><li>Visible, fully integrated member of the College community, </li><li>Assist in tracking the admissions and eligibility process involving recruited student-athletes, and for working collaboratively with the Faculty Athletic Representative in this regard, </li><li>Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations of the NAIA as it relates to the program, </li><li>Represent Benedictine College and the program in a professional manner, and </li><li>Responsible for being a proponent of the NAIA Champions of Character Program. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Competency Statement(s)</p> <ul> <li>Strong preference for track & field coaching experience, </li><li>Commitment to the overall development of the student-athlete and the mission of the College, </li><li>High level of personal integrity, </li><li>Outstanding work ethic, </li><li>Knowledge of and commitment to NAIA rules and regulations, </li><li>Demonstrated success in recruitment.
