<p>Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to our team in Albion, IN. This individual will be heavily responsible for the performance of CNC machinery, welding equipment, and assembly cells across our plants in Albion. Our main plant has over 120 CNCs, several automated friction weld cells, and assembly lines. This individual will also be responsible for identifying, designing, and procuring required tooling and fixtures, including controlling tooling expenditures within established limits.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Participate in design reviews to establish standard and custom product designs that optimize manufacturability. </li><li>Review and approve Engineering layouts and drawings for optimum manufacturability, cost, tooling, make/buy decisions, and product structure. </li><li>Develop and communicate a 'manufacturing plan' for new designs or processes to production departments. </li><li>Generate new or revised process specifications to support manufacturing. </li><li>Support production operations during the manufacturing process through technical guidance and resolution of any problems or errors. </li><li>Develop facility layouts and process flow charts that reflect current operations and processes. </li><li>Analyze work samples and create routings to develop standards for labor utilization. </li><li>Evaluate methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment. </li><li>Initiate and participate in departmental or company strategic programs. This includes cycle time, quality, and cost improvement programs generated through continuous process improvement. </li><li>Provide maintenance engineering for machine tools and process facilities. </li><li>Design and specify lifting equipment for heavy product lifts, inspect lifting equipment, and specify lifting procedures. </li><li>Assist the Materials Department with capacity evaluations, vendor evaluation and assistance, and make/buy decisions. </li><li>Jointly participate with the Engineering Department to resolve all engineering and design-related problems and provide manufacturing inputs required for cost-effective designs. </li><li>Aid the Quality Department in assisting with audits, field service, inspection, and any quality issues associated with manufacturing. </li><li>Interface with vendors, customers, and federal, state, and local representatives as needed. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 1+ years of experience (internship experience in a manufacturing non-design position will also be considered). </li><li>Prior experience in a manufacturing/process engineering capacity. </li><li>Experience working with CNC, welding, stamping, or assembly processes. </li><li>Associate degree and 5+ years of experience will also be considered. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience programming or editing CNCs utilizing G & M Code (or CAD/CAM software). </li><li>Experience utilizing CAD software. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The facility in Albion is a fast-paced, multi-plant manufacturing environment similar to an automotive plant with a high level of pressure and accountability. The CNCs are primarily lathes, machining 20,000 pieces per day. This is a 1st shift role, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with an expected workweek of 40-50 hours. The company culture focuses on motivation, inspiration, and engagement rather than an iron-fist leadership style. It is a non-union, axle plant where a hands-on approach and a sense of urgency are valued. The team comprises 7 total Manufacturing Engineers.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
