Performs immunohistochemistry of new procedures and trains junior technologists. Participates in laboratory performance improvement program.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provides quality technical and customer service to all customers in compliance with the expectations set by the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs computer accessioning and proper specimen labeling, insuring instrument specimen integrity.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Pathology Residents and Pathologists as needed in Frozen Section & Gross Room as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs routine Histology procedures necessary to prepare slides for examination by Pathologists,</p> </li></ol> <p>including but not limited to embedding, cutting, mounting and staining.</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Performs special stains in accordance to quality standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiates work procedures and performs all quality control, instrument maintenance & documentation</p> </li></ol> <p>required by accrediting agencies.</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Communicates effectively and appropriately with coworkers, pathology residents & pathologists to assure the quality & integrity of the service.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a safe environment for one's self and coworkers to comply with all regulatory agencies & with hospital's & Laboratory's Safety Programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in maintaining section's inventory to ensure proper levels of reagents, controls and disposables.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs Immunhistochemistry of new procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Trains junior technologists and assists in implementation of new procedures.
