<p>Transcendia is a leader in custom engineered materials for critical product components in a wide range of markets and applications. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer Semester 2022. This position is located in Hebron, Ohio.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Electrical Engineering Intern will support Transcendia's Hebron, Ohio facility. The successful candidate will complete engineering projects to improve the safety, quality, delivery, or cost within the production process. Specifically, the candidate will assist the Electrical Engineers with the electrical arc flash study and equipment designations.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The candidate will support engineering projects for a variety of departments, including Production, Continuous Improvement, and Maintenance. This could include plastic film extrusion and winding equipment, PLC and other computer systems, utility equipment such as air compressors and pumps, and various instrumentation. Projects will be focused on the electrical arc flash study, plus any other projects as appropriate. The candidate will typically work on teams with engineers, technicians, and production operators under time and budget restrictions to deliver customized products for a variety of customers. The successful candidate will execute tasks and be required to report on their status. Work is a combination of office and floor time. Must be able to balance the two with a drive for action-oriented decisions.</p> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering program, or an equivalent discipline </li><li>At least two years of coursework completed </li><li>Classroom exposure to electrical arc flash studies is helpful </li><li>Minimum 3.0 GPA </li><li>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook </li><li>Experience with manufacturing equipment, instrumentation, and PLCs </li><li>Experience with engineering drawings, assembling, or maintaining mechanical equipment, machining, or other fabrication experience </li><li>Experience with the operation of equipment in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Willingness to learn and apply skills hands-on </li><li>Eagerness to contribute to a team </li><li>Passionate about improving systems </li><li>Demonstrate excellent ownership of projects as assigned, while asking questions as much as needed </li></ul> <p>Transcendia is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all candidates for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.</p>
