<p>Introduction</p> <p>Airport Operations Professionals - Are you ready for your career to take off to the next level?</p> <p>The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Airport Operations Assistant Specialist at Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Windsor Locks, CT. BDL is the second biggest airport in New England and sits between New York and Boston - serving travelers from Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and other New England states. BDL offers access to more than 40 non-stop destinations and is served by 11 different airlines.</p> <p>This full time, 40 hour per week position is an exciting opportunity to join a great team! This position is required under Part 139 to satisfy requirements for airfield inspections, implementing the Snow and Ice Control Plan, coordinating aircraft and non-aviation emergencies, responding to hazards from wildlife, and other situations that can be hazardous to aircraft operations.</p> <p>This role also responds to terminal and tenant needs, including escorting personnel and aircraft, maintenance reporting, and security threats. There is an essential snow operation duty component, with a mandatory winter assignment from November 1st - April 30.</p> <p>Your Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Airport Operations Specialist in coordinating day-to-day operational activities at BDL; </li><li>Perform duties coordinating ongoing airport operations on an assigned shift; </li><li>Provide liaison between Airline Partners, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) and all airport tenants and lessees; </li><li>Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations related to safe airport operations to include ACM, Airport Security Plan, Airport Emergency Plan, Airport Diversion Plan and Wildlife Management programs at BDL; </li><li>Perform daily airfield inspections of the air operations areas to ensure compliance with established safety and maintenance standards; </li><li>Observe runway conditions and may issue Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) to advise airlines, FAA and pilots of current conditions; </li><li>Assist in coordinating snow removal operations with maintenance staff; </li><li>May assist with landside and ground transportation operations or terminal building operations; </li><li>May assist in coordinating the airport noise abatement program and respond to noise complaints; </li><li>Perform related duties as required and/or assigned. </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements:</p> <p>An individual serving in this position must be able to successfully undergo a thorough background and security screening, pre-employment drug screening, fingerprinting and maintain required security clearance during the duration of employment. Incumbents in this class must obtain Bradley movement area certification, allowing them to independently operate vehicles and equipment on Airfield movement areas while effectively communicating with Air Traffic Control for proper clearance.
