<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Administration</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/13/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Forest Hills School District Main Office</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>05/27/2025</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Forest Hills Local Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Title: Coordinator of Facilities & Maintenance</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Business Operations</p> <p>Employment Status: Full-Time</p> <p>Terms of Employment: 260 Days</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Salary: Salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Good health, high moral character, and general knowledge regarding maintenance work of school buildings, facilities, and grounds.</p> </li><li> <p>A high school diploma or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lead and cooperate with others.</p> </li><li> <p>Five years of experience in custodial or related work.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical ability to conduct building site visits.</p> </li></ol> <p>Definition:</p> <p>The Coordinator of Facilities & Maintenance will work directly with the Executive Director of Human Resources and the Director of Business Operations to maintain an effective and efficient Facilities and Maintenance Department. S/he will lead in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>General Leadership of Facilities & Maintenance Department</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and maintains a positive and cooperative atmosphere that encourages and motivates staff to achieve departmental goals</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the selection, assignment, scheduling, and annual evaluation of facilities & maintenance personnel in assigned buildings and arranges for substitute staff coverage as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and conducts regular staff meetings; implements appropriate orientation and training for all staff</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and implements departmental goals, operational standards, policies, and procedures; revises departmental work systems and procedures as necessary to improve the efficiency and productivity of the departments</p> </li><li> <p>Investigates and resolves departmental related issues and concerns; maintains close communication with Human Resources on such issues</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes and maintains internal and external communications to keep appropriate individuals informed of departmental activities</p> </li><li> <p>Works with the Human Resources Office in the screening, hiring, training, and assigning of personnel within the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintenance of District Property - Repairs and Work Orders</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the inspection, care, condition, appearance, repair, or replacement of physical equipment, buildings, facilities, and grounds</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews, evaluates and recommends the purchase of new and replacement facilities and maintenance equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates execution and completion of facility work orders in a cost effective and timely manner. (i.e. determines work order priorities, develops plans of action to address problems, and ensures the availability of necessary supplies and materials to complete the job)</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive Facilities Maintenance Plan & Capital Improvement Projects</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the Director of Business Operations in the development and implementation of a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan for the District.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies and communicates to the Director of Business Operation the short and long-range facility and equipment needs of each building within the District, including capital improvements</p> </li><li> <p>Works cooperatively with building principals to establish priorities for maintenance work</p> </li><li> <p>Safety and Compliance</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts regular building site visits to ensure safe conditions and compliance with cleanliness, health and safety standards; initiates corrective action as necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps abreast of regulatory standards related to the buildings and grounds function by attending workshops/conferences, reading trade journals, maintaining contact with applicable local and state agencies, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the development and operation of maintenance records and reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Budget and Operations</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares the annual department budget for approval by the Director of Business Operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors expenditures to ensure all are within the approved budget; initiates cost control procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees the processing of employee time sheets and purchase requisitions</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates personnel and equipment needs to central office administrators</p> </li><li> <p>Standardizes and maintains sound accounting procedures in cooperation with treasurer's office</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes inventory system/procedures for supplies, materials, and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommends purchase of new and replacement equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains personnel records, accurate time sheets; submits semi-monthly payroll for employees</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains and services all heating plants.</p> </li><li> <p>Other</p> </li><li> <p>Implements Board of Education and administrative policies, rules, regulations, and directives.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends District meetings and participates on District-wide committees as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Fast-paced environment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds</p> </li><li> <p>Possible exposure to blood and other bodily fluids</p> </li><li> <p>Prolonged and irregular hours</p> </li></ul> <p>Forest Hills Board Policy 4122 - Nondiscrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity:</p> <p>The Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation and transgender identity), disability, age, religion, military status, ancestry, genetic information (collectively, "Protected Classes"), or any other legally protected category, in its programs and activities, including employment opportunities.</p> <p>Individuals with certain criminal history will be disqualified from employment with the</p> <p>Forest Hills School District Board of Education.</p> <p>Attachment(s):</p> <ul> <li>Coordinator of Facilities & Maintenance Job Description </li><li>FHSD Fall 2024 Quality Profile </li></ul>
