<p>Hourly:</p> <p>$17.50 - $17.50</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Executive, Health & Welfare</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Mayor's Office of Children, Youth & Family</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summer Seasonal Position</p> <p>Must be a high school student and at least 16 years old by hire date.</p> <p>This role will work in digital records management, archival preservation, and local history.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Work with Records Management Division staff digitizing historical City records. </li><li>Prepare documents for scanning, produce digital image files, and index scanned records into the City's electronic document management system. </li><li>Assist with historical research. </li><li>Process a collection of archival records and completing a finding aid/guide to the collection that will be posted to the City's website. </li><li>Heighten visibility and promote accessibility to City records. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks (between the months of June - August 2025) </li><li>Current high school student </li><li>At least 16 years of age by hire date </li><li>Interest in government and Charleston history </li></ul> <p>The Summer Youth Employment Program offers selected youth paid workshops on financial empowerment to help participants gain skills in banking, budgeting, saving, and credit.
