<p>Description</p> <p>Title: Vascular Technologist 1 - NHMP Norwalk Cardiovascular - Per Diem, 8 hour day shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.</p> <p>Summary: Perform non invasive vascular studies with a high degree of accuracy and analytical skills.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Admits, observes and discharges patients from the laboratory.</p> </li><li> <p>Verifies physician's order on the chart or phone orders specifying procedure to be performed.</p> </li><li> <p>Checks patient's ID and verbally confirms identification, if possible.</p> </li><li> <p>Introduces self to the patient and explains procedures prior to each vascular study and answers patient's questions.</p> </li><li> <p>Tests patients for the following; peripheral arterial disease, carotid and vertebral, vasculogenic impotence, & for venous disease.</p> </li><li> <p>Notifies physician of preliminary results, if a severely abnormal study is obtained, before releasing the patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Implements STAT orders within 15 minutes and routine orders within 24 hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends continuing education programs and mandatory in-services on a timely basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as required.</p> </li></ol> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Completion of an accredited vascular program. Registered Vascular Technologist or must become registered within 18 months from date of hire. Thorough knowledge in anatomy, physiology, disease process, and complex instrumentation.
