<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on </li></ul> <p>providing fast and friendly Customer Service. Responsible for total store CSI (Customer Service</p> <p>Index) and communicating with customers on total store resolutions.</p> <ul> <li>Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom </li></ul> <p>announcements and one-on-one customer interaction.</p> <ul> <li>Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately. Receive and appropriately resolves </li></ul> <p>customer grievances. Store Director closes the loop between customer and employee</p> <p>relations by resolving customer's critique of store and/or employees.</p> <ul> <li>Primary responsibility, total store operations. In that regard, implements Company and Division </li></ul> <p>merchandising, operating and sales initiatives. As well as driving sales achieving gross profit and</p> <p>managing expenses.</p> <ul> <li>Plans daily operation, monitors production process following company procedures and profitability. </li><li>Communicates with Operation Specialists for support on execution of sales, promotions and division </li></ul> <p>programs.</p> <ul> <li>Communicates Company goals, objectives, policies, practices and procedures to department </li></ul> <p>managers and employees, ensures compliance with in all departments and sets total store</p> <p>expectations.</p> <ul> <li>Meets at least weekly with department heads to review ads, sales plans and store promotions. In </li></ul> <p>the event of Store Director's absence, ensures that an alternate manager conducts such</p> <p>meeting(s).</p> <ul> <li>Creates and maintains positive community relations. Develops, promotes and maintains positive </li></ul> <p>communication channels with manufacturer's representatives, Store, Division and Corporate</p> <p>personnel. Monitors market conditions, trends and competitors' activities.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains a good rapport with vendors and Warehouse. </li><li>Ability to operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Operates </li></ul> <p>computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Requires basic knowledge of</p> <p>Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Email.</p> <p>Food Safety& Sanitation/ Compliance/ Policies:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures that the company's safety and health initiatives are implemented and communicated to </li></ul> <p>associates. Emphasizes safety and health code compliance in all work practices.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains integrity in Food Safety and Sanitation as well as keeps store compliant in all areas. </li><li>Solely responsible for food safety and sanitation within the store and all departments. </li><li>Pulls and ensures all employees are compliant with Food Safety and Sanitation, HIPAA, COBC (Code </li></ul> <p>of Business Conduct), Meat Grinding and Tracking Log, Texas Work Place Benefits Plan Manager,</p> <p>Food Handlers Manager and any other compliance company and state specific.</p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb </li></ul> <p>Employee Handbook.</p> <p>Store Director</p> <p>September 2017</p> <p>Page 2</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for insuring proper code dating for all products within the department are being enforced. </li><li>Ensures total store compliance, including but not limited to Division scheduling initiatives, </li></ul> <p>policies, wage and payroll guidelines, Time Clock Policy, benefit plans, grooming and dress code</p> <p>standards, child labor and other employment laws. Maintains accurate and complete records,</p> <p>consistent with the law and records retention policies.</p> <ul> <li>Complies with and ensures compliance with company grooming standards and dress code. </li><li>Reviews and approves all department schedules in advance of posting to ensure appropriate </li></ul> <p>staffing and adequate coverage.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible and accountable for maintaining good store conditions, product quality and rotation, </li></ul> <p>labeling standards, and code date compliance in all departments. Conducts daily inspections of</p> <p>store conditions and coaches employees in the process.</p> <ul> <li>Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters </li></ul> <p>and Sterilox machine.</p> <ul> <li>Implements emergency procedures in the event of equipment and software malfunctions. </li><li>Ensures that proper temperature levels for product are maintained. Complies with retail labeling </li></ul> <p>laws, federal and state regulations, Company and code dating policies.</p> <ul> <li>Complies with all workplace safety rules and regulations. </li><li>Ability to performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, </li></ul> <p>inspecting quality, reporting shortage, stocking and rotating product. Adheres to product temperature</p> <p>and storage guidelines and follows proper packaging techniques.</p> <p>HR Resources:</p> <ul> <li>Ultimately accountable for staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training within store. Evaluates </li></ul> <p>employee job performance and makes personnel decisions such as promotion, termination and</p> <p>disciplinary action, including completing necessary paperwork. Considers the recommendations</p> <p>of Grocery, Drug Managers or Assistant Store Director (If Applicable) in hiring, promoting</p> <p>terminating and disciplinary decisions.</p> <ul> <li>Conducts formal employee evaluations as necessary per Division guidelines. Identifies training </li></ul> <p>needs of key associates for future development and ensures completion of such training.</p> <ul> <li>Appropriately resolves employee relations, including complaints of discrimination, harassment, </li></ul> <p>working off the clock and violations of the law, with guidance and support from the Human</p> <p>Resources Department. Builds and maintains positive associate morale.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains and safeguards confidentiality concerning employees, store sales, and Company </li></ul> <p>information.</p> <ul> <li>Clearly and accurately provides guidance and instruction to department managers, supervisors </li></ul> <p>and associates.</p> <ul> <li>Oversees and ensures compliance with; proper cash handling procedures, accounting of sales, </li></ul> <p>safe procedures and Safeguards Company assets.</p> <p>Financials:</p> <ul> <li>Controls shrink. Maintains and controls inventory levels in the backroom areas and on the sales </li></ul> <p>floor per Division guidelines. Develops operating budgets and controls all in-store operating,</p> <p>maintenance, expense and supply costs.</p> <ul> <li>Processes and completes or oversees the completion of all required reports and administrative </li></ul> <p>paper work. Has a complete understanding of reports including but, not limited to P&L (Profit and</p> <p>Loss Statement) and any other store reports.</p> <ul> <li>Prepare sales and inventory reports. Physical inventory taken every 4 weeks. Responsible for </li></ul> <p>accurate inventory of all merchandise, supplies and equipment. Properly conducts or oversees</p> <p>inventories and independent audits.</p> <p>Store Director</p> <p>September 2017</p> <p>Page 3</p> <ul> <li>Supervises the processing of all reclamation as well as maintains orderly and in stock conditions </li></ul> <p>in back room and all Departments.</p> <ul> <li>Recommends the expenditure for improvement or repair of store equipment and building to </li></ul> <p>district manager.</p> <ul> <li>Ensures that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed and that shelves are clean and </li></ul> <p>properly maintained.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately and with honesty and </li></ul> <p>integrity. Treats all employees consistently, fairly and with Courtesy, Dignity and Respect.</p> <ul> <li>Other necessary and required duties. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional </li></ul> <p>demeanor in regards to customers and co-workers.</p> <ul> <li>Requires a good understanding of overall company practices and Grocery Department policies and </li></ul> <p>procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to frequently reach, lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to </li></ul> <p>approximately 50 lbs. Bends, stoops and reaches frequently. Pushes and pulls fully loaded hand</p> <p>trucks and pallet jacks. Performs repetitious arm movement to prepare, package and display</p> <p>products.</p> <ul> <li>Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary. Ability to stand for long periods of </li></ul> <p>time.</p> <ul> <li>Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Requires </li></ul> <p>knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures. Must have knowledge of product</p> <p>variety, standards, perishability, product handling, sanitation, labeling and department policies and</p> <p>procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Operates telephone, pallet jack, hand truck, knives, scissors, safety cutters and Sterilox machine. </li></ul> <p>Utilizes cleaning supplies and equipment.</p> <ul> <li>Operates computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Requires basic </li></ul> <p>knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Email.</p> <ul> <li>May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Scheduled hours will vary. Good </li></ul> <p>attendance is required.</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aids necessary to perform </li></ul> <p>job duties.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Generally works in a temperature controlled environment. Frequent exposure to refrigerated conditions </li></ul> <p>and items at or around 35°. May be exposed to -20° F while handling products in freezer.</p> <ul> <li>Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required </li></ul>
