<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Be a part of the dynamic team that helps shape the next generation of nurses! The Nursing Department invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty appointment in our ACEN-accredited Associate Degree Nursing program and/ or upcoming Licensed Practical Nurse program. Major responsibilities include teaching nursing theory, clinical instruction and evaluation, lab instruction and evaluation; curriculum development and evaluation with opportunities to incorporate SIMS activities, student mentoring and advisement to ensure strengthening of knowledge, skills, and competencies.</p> <p>The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Use appropriate technology to deliver and enhance learning; </li><li>Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes; </li><li>Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester; </li><li>Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives; </li><li>Be responsive to student questions and available for student support; </li><li>Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education; </li><li>Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree or certification completion; and, </li><li>Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalency is required to instruct in the AAS RN program. </li><li>At least three (3) years current acute-care experience. </li><li>Candidates must be qualified to assist students with bedside nursing care and possess a broad knowledge of current and evolving clinical technology with advanced computer skills. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>College, vocational or proprietary school teaching experience. </li><li>Experience with designing and conducting clinical laboratory simulations and a working knowledge of operating simulation manikins. </li><li>Experience with distance education. </li><li>Experience with mastery learning and instructional modules. </li><li>Experience in student advisement. </li><li>Formal course work in nursing education. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
