Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>What is the compensation?</p> <p>Pay Rate: $15.00 per shift. Payment will be by direct deposit.</p> <p>Part-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following great benefits: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.</p> <p>What are the main duties?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist children to and from school at designated crosswalks at their assigned post.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the crossing guard supervisor as needed and perform other related duties as required.</p> </li></ul> <p>What do I need to apply?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to respond to work site twice per day and work in adverse weather conditions and heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires visual and hearing abilities sufficient to safely perform the duties.</p> </li><li> <p>Must have good rapport with children.</p> </li></ul> <p>NOTE: Individuals applying for this position must be at least 18 years of age and have their own transportation.</p> <p>What are the hours?</p> <p>Location and hours of position will be discussed at time of interview.</p> <p>What are the physical and environmental factors?</p> <p>Work requires exposure to all weather conditions, working in and around heavy traffic, and standing and walking for extended periods.</p> <p>What is the selection process?</p> <p>This is an open file posting. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.</p> <p>If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
