<p>Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineer to support a leading organization in the technology and infrastructure industry. The Software Engineer will focus on enhancing and maintaining Java-based Spring Boot applications that are distributed using contemporary DevOps methodologies across the organization's operational environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:</p> <ul> <li>Support and enhance Java-based Spring Boot applications. </li><li>Contribute to application delivery using modern DevOps practices and tooling. </li><li>Implement and maintain cryptographic operations leveraging PKCS11. </li><li>Support Linux-based infrastructure and application servers, including Tomcat, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. </li><li>Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps workflows using Git, Pipelines, ArgoCD, and Helm. </li><li>Automate infrastructure and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, and AI-driven tooling. </li><li>Develop and optimize SQL queries across Oracle and RDS environments. </li><li>Monitor system performance and support ongoing reliability and scalability efforts. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications of the Software Engineer:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot. </li><li>Experience with PKCS11 or similar cryptographic modules. </li><li>Strong understanding of Linux systems, Tomcat, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. </li><li>Hands-on experience with GitOps and CI/CD tooling including Git, ArgoCD, Pipelines, and Helm. </li><li>Proficiency with automation and IaC tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Terragrunt. </li><li>Familiarity with Oracle databases, SQL, and cloud-hosted relational services (RDS). </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems. </li></ul> <p>Compensation for the Software Engineer includes:</p> <ul> <li>Salary range: $120,000 -$175,000 </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO </li><li>Remote work flexibility </li></ul> <p>This job opens for applications on 02/22/2026.
