<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.</p> <p>On a daily basis, all Registered Nurses in the Inpatient MH position are expected to perform the usual and customary duties of a front-line nurse including but not limited to physical assessment, medication administration, wound and skin assessment/care, and general nursing management of the Veteran's psychological and physical well-being. The nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation is applied on an ongoing, systematic manner to all Veterans. Registered Nurses are actively involved in providing, developing, and facilitating Veteran education.</p> <ul> <li>Independently provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented car, milieu management, and maintain self-awareness while caring for patients living with MH conditions. </li><li>Administer medications and carries out other procedures per established policies and guidelines; such as behavioral de-escalation techniques, restraints/seclusion, blood glucose and vital sign monitoring, use of barcode medication administration (BCMA) program. </li><li>Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. </li><li>Report significant clinical findings to the clinical team in a timely manner. </li><li>Participate in discharge planning and provides clinically relevant information to the clinical team. </li><li>Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate the care of our unique patient population and must demonstrate sound interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory</p> <p>Work Schedule: 24 hours per week, 2330 - 0800 with alternating weekends and holidays</p> <p>Telework: Not available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized</p> <p>EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
