Founded in 1972, we've grown organically from a one-person import wine business into an international drinks company whose hallmarks include a portfolio of luxury wineries and iconic beverage brands, including White Claw Hard Seltzer, Mike's Hard Lemonade, and Cayman Jack.</p> <p>Role Purpose</p> <p>The Raw Materials and Ingredients Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the sourcing, qualification, and operational management of all raw materials, ingredients, and processing aids used in beverage innovation. This role is responsible for ensuring every ingredient is technically validated, compliant with regulatory standards, and scalable for production-supporting MAB's commitment to quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <p>Technical Ownership & Ingredient Validation</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the technical authority for all raw materials and ingredients, responding to internal inquiries and guiding ingredient selection and usage. </li><li>Lead the technical qualification of new ingredients by defining Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), Critical Process Parameters (CPPs), analytical methods, and validation criteria. </li><li>Conduct small-scale trials and functional assessments to confirm ingredient performance before production. </li><li>Define scale-up requirements, including equipment capability, process conditions, and any CapEx implications. </li></ul> <p>Supplier Capability, Compliance & Risk Management</p> <ul> <li>Own the technical approval of new and existing ingredient suppliers, collaborating with Quality, Procurement and Product Development as part of the supplier selection process. </li><li>Perform technical reviews, process capability assessments (including Cp/Cpk expectations), and ingredient-level risk assessments. </li><li>Lead supplier technical capability assessments and provide technical data and feedback to support Procurement's performance discussions with suppliers. </li><li>Ensure every ingredient meets applicable TTB, FDA, state, and internal MAB regulatory standards, including documentation such as SDS, allergen declarations, nutritional specs, GRAS status, and Prop 65 compliance. </li></ul> <p>Operational Support & Issue Resolution</p> <ul> <li>Support production, brewing, and packaging teams with troubleshooting of ingredient-related quality issues or non-conformances. </li><li>Provide rapid root-cause analysis and corrective action guidance to minimize operational downtime. </li><li>Identify technical opportunities for cost optimization such as reformulations and yield improvements and support Procurement's evaluation of alternative suppliers as part of sourcing events and competitive supplier selection activities. </li></ul> <p>Innovation & Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Procurement and Product Development to identify and research emerging ingredients and technologies that enhance product quality, reduce cost, or enable innovation. </li><li>Recommend changes to ingredient standards, analytical methods, and quality specifications based on new data or learnings. </li><li>Contribute to the broader technical governance framework by documenting standards, updating specifications, and supporting training across sites. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Experience Needed</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Brewing Science, Food/Fermentation Science, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Biochemistry, or related field. </li><li>Strong understanding of ingredient chemistry, functionality, and process capability principles (Cp/Cpk, SPC). </li><li>Minimum 5 years' experience in raw materials, ingredients management, supplier quality, or beverage/CPG manufacturing. </li><li>Proven experience in supplier qualification, risk management, and cross-functional technical problem solving. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of beverage manufacturing processes and regulatory frameworks (TTB, FDA, state-level compliance). </li><li>Skilled in interpreting analytical data, validating test methods, and collaborating with suppliers on continuous improvement. </li></ul> <p>At Mark Anthony, we exist to Unearth the Extraordinary:</p> <p>Our Purpose is not just a statement; it is a call to action that binds us together and ignites our passion for making a difference.
