<p>Overview</p> <p>The Manager of New Business Development will create and build client relationships to obtain new projects. This role assists in developing proposals for clients including budgets and pricing development, proposal strategy, contract negotiations and client presentations.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Pursues and develops business relationships and opportunities for the firm and increases revenue to meet assigned targets. </li><li>Supports management in the development and implementation of business and marketing strategies. </li><li>Researches and gathers information on potential clients and projects. </li><li>Schedules meetings with prospective clients to uncover project opportunities. </li><li>Identifies and tracks business opportunities with internal accounting and/or Client Relationship Manager(CRM) systems. </li><li>Works with technical staff to develop proposals and scopes of work. </li><li>Makes commitments on behalf of the firm. </li><li>Develops and maintains a strong business network. </li><li>Establishes and maintains on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems. </li><li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal networks and participating in community, professional and client organizations. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Formal Education, Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Engineering, Architecture, Environmental, Ecological, Economic Development or other related discipline or associate's degree and related experience. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Experience</p> <ul> <li>5 years of business development experience in the architecture, engineering, environmental or ecological industry, or other professional service industry business development. </li><li>Documented business development and relationship building achievements. </li><li>Knowledge in marketing, branding and Business Development strategy. </li></ul> <p>Competencies and Personal Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Exhibits strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Works well in a goal and performance-based environment. </li><li>Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities, challenges and personal initiative. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team. </li><li>Job requires being cooperative with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, positive attitude. </li><li>Ability to plan and work independently and demonstrates good time management skills. </li><li>Ability to creatively problem-solve, persistently complete assigned tasks efficiently and exercise sound business judgment. </li><li>Proficient with the use of computers including spreadsheets, word processing, and enterprise communications software. </li><li>Proficient in using on-line tools for organizational and contact research. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is a largely a sedentary role: however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift market materials up to 20 pounds.</p> <p>Availability</p> <p>This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Requires the ability to occasionally work in the evening/night.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Spends the majority of time outside of the office attending events and meetings representing PEA Group and ASTI Environmental.</p>
