<p>Health Technician serves as a Dermatology instruments and equipment to perform diagnostic testing and preliminary work ups prior to the Veteran seeing the Dermatology Provider. Assists in managing clinic flow and is responsible for reusable medical equipment disinfection.</p> <p>Duties will include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Identify Patients who may require special preparation. </li><li>Support Medical and Surgical Dermatology and Rheumatology providers and nursing staff. </li><li>Provide Patient education and information regarding surgical procedures. </li><li>Alert providers of schedule/procedure changes. </li><li>Discuss procedures with Dermatology surgeons. </li><li>Prepare exam rooms and room Patients; triage scheduled Patients </li><li>Prepare, organize, maintain sterile field for dermatology surgery. </li><li>Assist with Phototherapy treatment for patients. </li><li>Maintain high quality procedures for obtaining surgical images using camera. </li><li>Assist the Dermatology surgeon: prepping, positioning, suctioning, holding retractors, and cutting sutures. </li><li>Maintain high fidelity procedures for management of dermatology specimens within the clinic, labeling and prepare dermatology specimens for transfer to pathology department. </li><li>Maintain equipment and work areas (Dermatology surgery and medical clinic areas, assess medical and surgical equipment needs, and maintain supplies and materials. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm</p> <p>Compressed/Flexible: Not Authorized</p> <p>Telework: Not Available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Position Description/PD#: Health Technician (Dermatology)/PD50254A</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized</p> <p>Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not Authorized</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p> <p>PCS Appraised Value Offer (AVO): Not Authorized</p>
