<p>The Food Service Associate will assist with all aspects of cafeteria operations, including serving food, food prep, cleaning, maintaining inventory, using kitchen tools, and following food safety guidelines serving under the supervision of the Director of Food Services. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to health and safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced school environment.</p> <p>Follow school schedule Hourly rate per Cafeteria Employee Agreement</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work in a team and positive contributor. Familiarity with K-12 food service, the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), DESE and USDA regulations and procedures. Servsafe Certification preferred Ability to perform simple math functions Ability to read and follow simple instructions Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment</p> <p>Essential Job Functions Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Must be punctual and prepared to work on a daily basis. Works as a member of a cafeteria staff team Assist cook in food preparation tasks such as fruit and vegetable processing, chopping, and making of food items such as sandwiches, snacks, and other items as determined by the daily menu. Ability to operate kitchen equipment in electrical such as mixers, potato peelers, slicing machines, dishwashers, and toasters in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to maintain a safe and sanitary cafeteria environment. Ability to clean, scrub, wash, and sanitize. Serve breakfast and lunch items to school population at designated meal times. Operates point of sale system, records meals purchased, handles cash and account-based transactions. Acts as final eyes on each reimbursable meal, ensuring it meets DESE, NSLP and other state and federal guidelines. Assist in filling out production records, recording meal counts. Assist in the checking in, marking and storing of deliveries. Inform cook of products that are running low and need to be reordered. Attend meeting/professional development called by the Food Service Director. Adhere to proper sanitation and safety procedures, including operation and proper temperatures of kitchen equipment. Assist in and knowledgeable of inventory, rotation and storage of all food and non-food items. Uphold the highest standards of customer service. Perform all other tasks and duties assigned by the Director of Food Services to ensure the smooth execution of Breakfast and Lunch Service.</p>
