<p>Program Overview:</p> <p>Youth Diversion is a program that provides unemployed, out-of- school young people an opportunity to reclaim their education, gain the skills they need for employment, and to become leaders in their communities. Through this program, low-income young people learn construction skills to help build affordable housing with the support of wraparound case management services.</p> <p>Position Description:</p> <p>The Youth Diversion Case Manager is responsible for providing assessment, support, case management and training for Youth Diversion participants</p> <p>Role and Responsibilities:</p> <p>The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Recruitment </li><li>Ensure student recruitment for each of the cohorts are met by working closely with schools and agencies with potential interest in the program </li><li>Receive and review applications and interview applicants </li><li>Assess personal needs of Youth Diversion participants and connect them to resources to meet their needs </li><li>Assist in designing and implementing of program orientation and Mental Toughness </li><li>Co-lead Mental Toughness orientation for the program </li><li>Complete internal hiring paperwork to enroll youth into the program </li><li>Set up TABE assessments </li><li>Student Attendance </li><li>Create and maintain relationships with partnering schools to keep YouthBuild staff updated on educational processes </li><li>Create and complete participant behavioral assessments and agreements </li><li>Track participant attendance, ensuring follow up on absent participants </li><li>Investigate ongoing attendance issues and create effective ways to improve attendance </li><li>Case Management </li><li>Document and report progress of students to meet funding requirements </li><li>Provide ongoing support, assistance and motivation to YouthBuild students and staff </li><li>Conduct bi-weekly case management meeting with students to develop, plan and track progress towards goals regarding completion of GED and personal goals </li><li>Work with students to remain in school and retain their position with YouthBuild </li><li>Assist students with conflict mediation and problem-solving as needed </li><li>Create and maintain relationships with outside agencies that serve as advocates and resources for students </li><li>Maintain monthly contact with past participants and provide additional follow up as needed </li><li>Advocate resolving issues facing the students (i.e.: court, previous school records, mental health needs, physical health needs, housing, etc.) </li><li>Make home visits, as appropriate, to assess needs and support the students. </li><li>Identify cultural, political, and social events or activities that may take place after work hours, and organize youth participation in such events </li><li>Oversee or assist with tutoring/help sessions </li><li>Assist instructors with students who may exhibit behavioral problems in the classroom </li><li>Participate in bi-weekly supervision and case staffing with supervisor </li><li>Provide transportation (via YouthBuild van) for youth in the program </li><li>Supervise participants on the job site in the absence of a crew leader, as needed </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li><li>Qualifications/Competencies: </li><li>Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university with 1-2 years related work experience. </li><li>Valid GA Drivers license and a good driving record </li><li>Ability to pass a criminal background check </li></ul> <p>Salary: 42K-47K</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>Youth Diversion Case Manager works an average of 80 hours bi-weekly </li><li>On-call responsibilities included </li><li>The work schedule requires flexibility to meet the needs of the program and availability on an emergency basis </li><li>Due to schedule or other operations necessities, the organization may transfer an employee to another location or shift, either on a temporary or permanent basis as this position is an employee of CHRIS 180, not the program </li><li>Total Rewards for working at CHRIS 180: </li><li>Competitive Salary </li><li>Competitive 403 (b) benefit defined contribution plan. </li><li>Healthcare insurance options including HMO or PPO </li><li>Dental and vision insurance options </li><li>Short term disability paid by CHRIS 180 </li><li>Basic life insurance 1x times your salary </li><li>Employee assistance program </li><li>Flexible spending account </li><li>11 paid holidays </li><li>PTO </li><li>Discounted college tuition for select colleges and universities </li><li>Hybrid/ in-office schedule based on department needs. </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>This is a full-time position and typically works Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00pm but requires flexibility.</p>
