<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Coordinator of Disability Services provides leadership in ensuring students with disabilities have equal access to college programs, services, and activities. Responsibilities include coordinating accommodations, supporting ADA compliance, developing academic support resources, promoting disability awareness, managing grant activities, and supervising staff. This role is part of the Student Affairs Division and reports to the Director of Disability Services.</p> <p>Summary of Responsibilities:</p> <p>Coordinates and delivers support services to ensure equal access for students with disabilities. Reviews documentation, develops accommodations, and advises students and faculty. Oversees compliance with ADA, manages departmental operations, and promotes disability awareness through training and outreach. Collaborates across departments, supervises staff, and contributes to grant efforts. Maintains current knowledge of disability services and performs related administrative tasks.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates and develops academic support services and policies to ensure equal access for students with disabilities; promotes self-advocacy and monitors access across programs. </li><li>Provides direct support to students through intake, documentation review, engagement in interactive process to determine individualized reasonable accommodations, and referrals to internal and external resources for learning support </li><li>Offers training and workshops on disability awareness, Universal Design for Learning, and accommodations for faculty, staff, and stakeholders. </li><li>Consults across departments on institutional compliance with ADA regulations, manages student accommodations, and advises on accessibility for campus and community events. </li><li>Assists with federally funded grant development, data reporting, and application preparation. </li><li>Oversees administrative functions including data collection, budget monitoring, purchasing, and maintenance of confidential student records. </li><li>Promotes disability services through outreach at college fairs, high schools, and awareness events. </li><li>Collaborates with internal and external partners, serves on committees, and mediates conflicts related to accommodations. </li><li>Supervises and mentors staff, interpreters, proctors, and student workers. </li><li>Keeps abreast of laws, trends, and best practices in disability services through ongoing professional development. </li><li>Performs various administrative and promotional tasks to support departmental operations. </li><li>Participates in institutional committees and other assignments as needed. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Education Rehabilitation, Counseling, Business Administration, or closely related field; with six (6) years' experience and/or training that includes learning disabilities assessment and program coordination, ADA compliance, vocational rehabilitation, diagnostic teaching, or adaptive/assistive technology; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience and Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>A Master's degree in one of the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Special Education</p> </li><li> <p>Disability Studies</p> </li><li> <p>Disability Services in Higher Education</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with traditional and non-traditional students with a variety of disabilities, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Learning disabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Physical disabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Visual impairments</p> </li><li> <p>Hearing impairments</p> </li><li> <p>ADHD</p> </li><li> <p>Autism</p> </li><li> <p>Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)</p> </li><li> <p>Psychiatric disabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Chronic illnesses</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of:</p> </li><li> <p>Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973</p> </li><li> <p>Federal and state disability law and compliance issues</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with:</p> </li><li> <p>Universal Design (UD)</p> </li><li> <p>Universal Design for Learning (UDL)</p> </li><li> <p>Universal Design for Instruction (UDI)</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of:</p> </li><li> <p>College-level executive functioning skills</p> </li><li> <p>Barriers to access faced by students with disabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Strategies and accommodations for creating equal access in higher education settings</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary Range: $77,358.00- $83,345.00 Grade 6, Unit Professional position Full state Benefits.
