<p>Position Summary...</p> <p>What you'll do...</p> <p>About the team:</p> <p>Walmart's Advertising Technology data team owns and drives the</p> <p>foundational data platform for targeting and measurement systems. The</p> <p>team is custodiam of all the business data and metrics, and the guarantor of</p> <p>their fidelity and completeness. The team charter is to provide interfaces and</p> <p>guidance for all aspects of advertising data.</p> <p>We are a team of data engineers whose strengths are: (1) building scalable</p> <p>data pipelines (2) exposure to machine learning techniques and data science</p> <p>(3) making sense of broadly defined problems through data analysis.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <ul> <li>Design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, </li></ul> <p>impacting millions of customers worldwide.</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to a small </li></ul> <p>group of highly skilled and motivated engineers.</p> <ul> <li>Identify opportunities at the engineering and product side and </li></ul> <p>influence leaders and engineers to solve high impact problems.</p> <ul> <li>You will be partnering cross-functionally with Product, Data Science </li></ul> <p>and other EMs, to understand the data landscape and influence the</p> <p>methodology choices.</p> <ul> <li>Partner across Engineering organization to establish strategic plans </li></ul> <p>and objectives to improve the mean time to detect and mean time to restore.</p> <ul> <li>Leads project teams for engineering projects by providing direction </li></ul> <p>regarding architecture and design; providing guidance regarding project</p> <p>issues or roadblocks; reviewing and approving proposed solutions;</p> <p>implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code</p> <p>reviews of changes; ensure stability and scalability of the platform</p> <ul> <li>Root-cause analysis of complex problems involving multiple parties, </li></ul> <p>networks, hardware, and software that relate to scaling and performance.</p> <ul> <li>What you'll bring: </li></ul> <p>BS or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.</p> <ul> <li>Leadership experience in solutions architecture and design 2+ years of experience in building and managing large scale </li></ul> <p>distributed, scalable,</p> <ul> <li>6+ years of Front-End engineering experience with Web-based frameworks and languages including React.JS, Angular, Next.JS, GraphQL and Typescript </li><li>Closely track Ad industry trends and best practices, including IAB recommendations, standards and proposed specifications </li><li>Experience with Advertising ecosystem providers such as Media Trust, MOAT, IAS, DoubleVerify, self serve ad tech platforms (Facebook, Adwords, GAM etc) is a plus </li><li>Fundamental Web development skills (Core understanding of the web, services and how things integrate). Cookies, headers, server to server communication understanding is critical. </li><li>Passionate towards web performance optimization.
