<p>Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>Assess the patient, their needs, capabilities and ability to tolerate treatment and performs reassessments for response to treatment. </li><li>Performs massage therapy services as according to the hospice plan of care as ordered by the patient's attending physician. </li><li>Provides massage therapy in hospice inpatient facility. </li><li>Coordinates the massage therapy treatment plan with other therapy treatment provided by other treatment team members. </li><li>Maintains a calm and soothing environment during treatment. </li><li>Instructs patients, family and staff in the use of massage therapy. </li><li>Maintains ongoing effective communication with other hospice personnel involved with patient care and reports on patient's response to treatment or any changes in condition. </li><li>Documents accurate and ongoing patient information in the patient's medical record according to organizational and professional standards. </li><li>Participates in team meetings, committees and quality improvement processes and planning as requested. </li><li>Assists in the orientation of new employees to the department, as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Massage Therapy training from an accredited institution or equivalent. </li><li>Licensure as a Massage Therapist in the State of Iowa is required. </li><li>Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date. </li><li>Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. </li><li>Strong written and verbal skills. </li><li>Basic computer knowledge. </li><li>Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner. </li><li>Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism </li></ul>
