<p>Job Description</p> <p>Agilent Technologies is seeking a Chemical Engineer/Chemist for its manufacturing facility in Newport, Delaware. The Newport site is part of Agilent's growing Consumables and Supplies Division (CSD), with a focus on liquid chromatography products. Agilent's product quality and technological innovation lead the market. As a market leader, we are entering new phases of product transformation with increased emphasis on process standardization, product availability and quality, and new product and process innovation.</p> <p>This is a high-visibility and growing product line where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to one of Agilent's key consumables businesses. Plus, we have embraced 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies making for an engaging and rewarding mix of scientific discovery, process improvement, and employee growth and development.</p> <p>Key responsibilities include working individually or as part of multi-discipline, cross-functional teams to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead project teams to develop and deploy product and process improvements, which include process chemistry optimizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide support for and/or represent the site on new product introduction projects</p> </li><li> <p>Evolve existing chemistries and design new chemistries</p> </li><li> <p>Scale existing chemistries in support for a rapidly growing line of liquid chromatography consumables</p> </li><li> <p>Provide daily support for the production of silica-based packing for high-performance liquid chromatography columns</p> </li><li> <p>Support and actively pursue Lean, 6-Sigma, and Safety Improvement projects</p> </li><li> <p>Resolve yield and scrap issues</p> </li><li> <p>Execute and support the Management of Change control process, determine the disposition of nonconforming product, and create and execute corrective and preventive action plans to improve safety and quality</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain SAP data accuracy (bills of materials, recipes)</p> </li></ul> <p>The following skills and experience are highly desired:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrated technical and problem solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated communication skills; written, oral and listening</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership skills</p> </li><li> <p>Computer and digital skills</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Statistics</p> </li><li> <p>Teamwork</p> </li><li> <p>Organization skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.</p> </li><li> <p>8+ years of hands-on experience with HPLC.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective written and verbal communication abilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking in technical environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in digital tools and data analysis.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Details</p> <p>This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
