<p>Early Childhood Assessment Team Summer Evaluations (Early Intervention/Early Childhood)- Occupational Therapist</p> <p>Program Dates</p> <p>Testing takes place in June and July based on the established testing schedule.</p> <p>Staff Hours</p> <p>Hours are determined based on the testing schedule and occur between 8:00am - 4:00pm. Each evaluation takes approximately 5 hours to complete.</p> <p>Hourly Rate of Pay</p> <p>$650 per evaluation</p> <p>Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution </li><li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an occupational therapist preferred </li><li>Demonstrated experience conducting pediatric, play-based evaluations </li><li>Training in or familiarity with the Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment (TPBA) model by Toni Linder preferred </li><li>Experience assessing fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills within naturalistic play contexts </li><li>Experience writing and contributing to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certification, and Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Valid Illinois license to practice Occupational Therapy </li><li>Registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of early childhood development and the relationship between play, sensory processing, and functional skills </li><li>Knowledge of play-based and authentic assessment practices in occupational therapy </li><li>Ability to assess fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills within naturalistic, play-based routines </li><li>Skill in observing and analyzing motor and sensory behaviors during child-led play </li><li>Ability to contribute to transdisciplinary evaluation practices and integrate findings across domains </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Cultural and linguistic responsiveness when working with diverse populations </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using play-based, transdisciplinary assessment approaches </li><li>Participate in team-based evaluation sessions aligned with the TPBA model when appropriate </li><li>Assess fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive functioning within play-based routines and activities </li><li>Observe children in structured and unstructured play environments </li><li>Embed assessment strategies within naturalistic play to evaluate functional performance </li><li>Collaborate with team members during live assessment sessions to gather integrated, cross-disciplinary data </li><li>Interpret evaluation results in the context of the child's functional participation in play and daily routines </li><li>Write clear, concise, and compliant evaluation reports reflecting play-based observations and outcomes </li><li>Develop and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including functional goals and supports </li><li>Participate in eligibility and IEP meetings as needed </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards </li></ul>
