<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Elementary Music Teacher (Grades K-5)</p> <p>Location: Enfield Public Schools, Enfield, CT</p> <p>Position Type: Full-Time, Certified</p> <p>Certification Required: Music, PK-12 (049) - CT State Department of Education</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Enfield Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Music Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners through engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction that fosters creativity, musical literacy, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver high-quality general music instruction to students in grades K-5 using best practices aligned with the National Core Arts Standards and the Connecticut Arts Standards. </li><li>Design and implement lessons that incorporate singing, movement, instruments, listening, and music literacy. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with special needs and English language learners. </li><li>Foster a safe, inclusive, and joyful classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and self-expression. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues, families, and the community to support student growth and achievement. </li><li>Organize and direct student performances and school-wide musical events. </li><li>Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and measure student progress. </li><li>Maintain compliance with all district policies and CT State Department of Education certification requirements. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut Teaching Certification in Music, PK-12 (049). </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field (Master's preferred). </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of child development and best practices in elementary music education. </li><li>Strong classroom management and communication skills. </li><li>Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching. </li></ul> <p>Our Mission:</p> <p>At Enfield Public Schools, we believe public education is the cornerstone of a free and democratic society.
