<p>Wilson Community College is seeking an EMS Program Coordinator who will be the lead coordinator and instructor for the assigned EMS classes. Responsibilities will include teaching EMS courses; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; recruiting, advising and retaining students.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The instructor will prepare and deliver high-quality didactic and laboratory instruction consistent with the National EMS Education Standards and National Registry requirements. </li><li>Develops course syllabi, outlines, and classroom activities for assigned courses. </li><li>Reviews and selects appropriate textbooks and instructional materials for assigned courses. </li><li>Provide effective and high-quality EMS instruction which aligns with certification standards and instructional requirements. </li><li>Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment. </li><li>Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and administration at the college. </li><li>Administers tests or other evaluation methods to students; grades and gives feedback on exercises, homework assignments, and tests. </li><li>Monitors, records, and submits student attendance, progress, and grades for assigned courses. </li><li>Order supplies and equipment for assigned courses. </li><li>Serves as an academic advisor for assigned students. Monitors and ensures that students take appropriate courses in the appropriate sequence. </li><li>Contributes to curriculum development by developing and evaluating course content and student learning outcomes. </li><li>Maintains contacts with business, industry, and professional organizations to keep instructional programs current with occupational or academic field. </li><li>Participates in program reviews. </li><li>Develops, implements, evaluates, and reports annual program goals/outcomes (PLOs). </li></ul> <p>College-wide Expectations</p> <p>WCC places a high value on creating an engaged, collaborative campus environment; therefore, employees are required to complete their work hours in person on WCC's campus. By working on campus and in person, employees have greater opportunities to engage with students and co-workers, attend on-site meetings and presentations, recruit students, and support local business and industry partners. </p> <ul> <li>Communicates clearly and frequently in writing and speaking to ensure consistency of purpose and vision. </li><li>Works collaboratively with all members of the college community. </li><li>Understands and supports the college mission, vision, and values. </li><li>Remains current on emerging higher education and division-relevant issues. </li><li>Fosters a work environment characterized by transparency, trust, and professionalism. </li><li>Retains a focus on the student experience, specifically, ensuring instructional rigor, fostering students' sense of belonging, and developing their soft skills. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Level 1 Paramedic Instructor. </li><li>Associate's Degree. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>Level 2 Paramedic Instructor or aspiring to become a Level 2 Paramedic Instructor.</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of a bachelor's degree within 3-6 months.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous teaching experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>Unofficial transcripts must be included with your online application before submission or sent directly to Human Resources immediately after applying.
