<p>This position performs technical engineer duties to support maintenance and operations in Metro Region. This position assists in implementing innovative and performance-based solutions to solve complex maintenance problems. including assisting in managing the Public Private Partnership (P3) for freeway lighting, Pump Station (PS) Generator Design Build (DB) project; and maintenance program support which includes assist in maintenance program budget management, and engineering assistance to direct force maintenance. </p> <p> </p> <p>Provide support in administering current and future contracts for the freeway lighting P3, assist in monitoring program activities needed to ensure optimal value and successful implementation. Assist in monitoring and analysis of maintenance program activities to ensure alignment and consistency within the region for maintenance. Provide engineering assistance to direct forces (Auburn Hills Garage (AHG) and Detroit Maintenance Garage (DMG)) for complex projects, routine maintenance and work plans, and provide support for new initiatives including the Transportation Asset Management System (TAMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Arc Geographic Information System (GIS) and Maintenance Decision Support System (MDSS)/Automated Vehicle Location (AVL).</p> <p>The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the experienced (P11) level. Recognized on the international stage for fostering positive employee engagement, the State of Michigan is a past recipient of a North America Government Agency Employees Engagement Award.</p> <p> </p> <p>Education</p> <p>Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.</p> <p>We may consider applicants that will be obtaining a bachelor's degree by May 31, 2025.</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Transportation Engineer 9</p> <p>No specific type or amount is required.</p> <p>Transportation Engineer 10</p> <p>One year of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 9.</p> <p>Transportation Engineer P11</p> <p>Two years of professional engineering experience involved in transportation systems and programs equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 10.Transportation Engineer 9 - 12</p> <p>Possession of a registered professional engineer license as required by the State of Michigan may be substituted for 6 months of experience at the Transportation Engineer 9-12 levels. This substitution may only be used once for any employee for qualification of appointment or early reclassification.</p> <p>To be considered for this position you must: </p> <ul> <li>Possess a valid drivers license. </li><li>If applicable, attach a copy of your official college transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluation with your application.
