Our Money Fund Strategies team is seeking an Associate Portfolio Manager to support the management and oversight of a Schwab Fund investing primarily in Prime money market securities.</p> <p>In this role, you'll take an active part in portfolio operations, investment execution, and continuous improvement of processes and workflows. You'll collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers and partner teams in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where curiosity, accountability, and thoughtful risk management are highly valued.</p> <p>Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Support day-to-day portfolio management activities for Schwab Prime Advantage, and Schwab Ultra-Short Income ETF in an actively managed environment </li><li>Partner with Portfolio Managers on investment strategy implementation, trade idea review, and execution </li><li>Apply regulatory and compliance requirements to investment decisions and portfolio operations </li><li>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and automation across investment processes </li><li>Monitor short-term markets and evolving market dynamics, sharing insights and observations with the broader team </li><li>Contribute to market research, data analysis, and thought leadership within the Money Fund Strategies team </li><li>Prepare and maintain portfolio analytics, charts, and presentation materials used in team discussions and investment committees </li></ul> <p>What you have</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative, analytical, or business-related field </li><li>2-5 years of experience in financial markets, investments, portfolio operations, trading, or a related area </li><li>Demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to interpret market data and assess the impact of market events </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly </li><li>Effective time management skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA or CFA), or progress toward one </li><li>Experience with fixed income, money markets, liquidity products, or short-duration strategies </li><li>Exposure to investment process improvement, automation, or data-driven decision-making </li></ul> <p>In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.</p>
