<p>Description</p> <p>This is a seasonal position responsible for leading the Summer Lifeguards patrolling the pool area in order to protect swimmers and maintain order.</p> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <ul> <li>Fun in the Sun:Spend your summer by the pool, soaking up the sun and enjoying the water. </li><li>Make a Difference:Play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and fun environment for all swimmers. </li><li>Team Spirit:Work alongside a fantastic team of fellow lifeguards and staff. </li><li>Skills Development:Gain valuable experience in lifesaving techniques and first aid. </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The primary functions of this position include: leading the summer lifeguards with their swim lessons; rescuing swimmers in distress and administering first aid treatment as necessary; enforcing safety rules and regulations regarding water activities, teaching swimming classes, accounting for monies received, performing pool maintenance, and cleaning the facility. </li><li>Will be required to train and document all rescue skills and CPR/First Aid procedures. </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, Licensing</p> <ul> <li>Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the 10th grade and one year of experience lifeguarding and/or working with small groups of youth, children of all ages, preschool through teens. </li><li>Required to have current StarGuard Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications as issued by StarFish Aquatics Institute. </li><li>Water Safety Instructor certification or Learn-to-Swim Instructor certification is required. </li><li>Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening (Finger Prints) is required. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>MANDATORY CAMP IN-SERVICE TRAINING will be held: June 11th, 2025</p> <p>CAMP DATES: June 11th - August 9th, 2025</p> <ul> <li>Note that this position does not include benefits. </li><li>Perform extensive physical activity and work outdoors in all weather conditions. </li><li>Understand that camp staffing levels are dependent on minimum enrollment and camper participation. If enrollment is too low, staff may be subject to layoff or relocation. </li><li>Monday through Friday - Work days and hours will vary. </li><li>Commit to working the entire summer camp season, including training week. </li></ul>
