<p>Description</p> <p>SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, will require schedule flexibility to meet the operational needs of the shift and shelter including overnights and weekends as needed; this position is essential in the event of an emergency.</p> <p>Pays $ 71,676.80 annually DOE</p> <p>LOCATIONS: 170 Morton St. - Jamaica Plain, 02130</p> <p>This position works 100% on site. No remote work is available.</p> <p>SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:</p> <p>The Senior Supervisor, Shattuck Shelter ("Sr. Supervisor") - in partnership with the Director - will provide leadership and guidance to all shifts.</p> <p>The Sr. Supervisor will assist the Shelter Director with the day-to-day operations of the Shattuck Low Barrier Shelter. In addition, they will support the Director on prioritized tasks. This is a highly responsible position, demanding great flexibility and decision-making skills; strong stewardship of the relationship with the staff, security and leadership; staff hiring, training and retention; staff management and supervision. The position will have three (3) fundamental goals:</p> <ul> <li>Create a safe environment for staff and guests utilizing and reinforcing the principles of Trauma-Informed Care and Harm Reduction in all aspects of the shelters policies, procedures and interactions. </li><li>Working closely with the Director, Shattuck Shelter and Holy Family Inn, the Director of Coordinated Housing Solutions and the Director of Triage, support the evolution of the PSI shelters to provide more proactive engagement with shelter guests to motivate movement toward housing. </li><li>Elevate the performance of approximately 20 Emergency Shelter staff through implementing strong management and supervision tools for direct care staff. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION/TRAINING:</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent years of combined education, experience and/or training </li><li>Strong computer and math skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel and ability to learn and successfully use MIS & HMIS programs </li><li>Training and experience in Trauma-Informed Care </li><li>Training and experience in Harm Reduction </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a social service setting </li><li>Minimum of three (2) years' supervisory experience in a social services setting </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years' experience delivering services to a challenged population often struggling with addiction and untreated or under-treated mental health concerns </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li>Four (4) years or more of prior supervisory experience </li><li>Successful experience leading working unit of similar scope and size through change </li><li>Working knowledge of local resources for men experiencing homelessness/extreme poverty </li><li>Working knowledge of Housing First </li><li>Working knowledge of local substance abuse and mental health resources </li><li>Experience complying with disability law in a place of public accommodation </li><li>Experience reviewing and evaluating requests for Reasonable Accommodation in a social service setting </li><li>Bilingual, with a preference for English/Spanish </li><li>Community appropriate and Trauma Informed Care </li><li>Triage/Diversion and Assessment knowledge </li><li>Knowledge of Street Outreach and working closely with our community providers </li></ul>
