<p>Position Title GO College High School/Middle School Outreach Coordinator Posting Number AS1004P Subdivision Dean's Office; CHES Division Col.Humanities,Ed.&SocScience Department Col.Humanities,Ed.&SocScience Location Erie, Pa Position Summary</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Coordinates on- and off-campus college and career preparatory activities for middle and high school students at Strong Vincent Middle School (3 days per week) and Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy (2 days per week); implements partnerships with both schools; participates in Gannon's summer academic camps; works within a local school(s) and on campus to serve and coordinate services for students with academic potential; works with internal and external constituents to develop, implement, and assess new college preparatory programming while enhancing and assessing existing programs. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ol> <li> <p>Works/meets with middle and high school principals and guidance counselors to coordinate and provide academic support along with dual enrollment scheduling & advising within the high school(s)</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and manages a college mentoring program for students.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides high school students with career and college exploratory opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides parents/guardians with information about college and career preparation.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates monthly workshops for GO College participants at SVMS.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains regular contact with the GO College director and local and partnering school officials.</p> </li><li> <p>Records, analyzes, and maintains student contacts, grades, and other forms of student assessment.</p> </li><li> <p>Maximizes the use of technology to support initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends GO College staff meetings to coordinate programming.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the job.</p> </li><li> <p>Meets individually with students to assess academic performance, behavior, and attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans and executes campus visits, career-focused field trips, and a two-weeks of summer programming (one week -rising seniors and one week - rising freshman).</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and manages an after school tutoring program at SVMS.</p> </li></ol> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Education: A Bachelor's degree is required or a master's degree (or in process) is preferred.</p> <p>Experience: Two-four years of experience working with middle, high school and/or college students is required.</p> <p>Skills: Must have knowledge of academic and motivational advising, college and career counseling, student skills counseling, and mentoring; effective presentation skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to work collaboratively and maintain strict confidentiality of all records and assessments; and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.</p> <p>Licenses or Certifications: A valid driver's license is required. Must have passed all clearances (FBI, state background, child abuse clearances) and complete required ESD mandatory reporting prior to starting work.</p> <p>University Mission: Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience working within TRIO programs.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with a normal office, high school, and University environment.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Frequent travel between designated school(s) and the University is required.
