Schedule will vary dependent upon class schedule.</p> <p>Sensitive Position No Job Description</p> <p>Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) offers career-training programs in numerous technical, industrial and medical fields at a reasonable cost, going so far as to even waive tuition for certain eligible students. Located in Richlands, Virginia, SWCC offers associate's degrees in such fields as business, education, general studies, liberal arts and science. These degrees are primarily intended for students who wish to transfer to a four-year university. SWCC also has associate's degrees that feature programs intended to lead directly to a career in fields such as Nursing, Radiography and Administration of Justice.</p> <p>Southwest Virginia Community College is in search of a Non-Credit Heavy Equipment Operator Adjunct Instructor to serve its Workforce and Continuing Education Division. The position will serve main and off site campuses. Instructional workload will be based on demand in surrounding communities serviced by the College. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and create a student-oriented learning environment. Classes may be offered day, evening, or weekends.</p> <p>Primary duties are to coordinate, administer, manage, and deliver non-credit programs. Responsible for the recruitment, work-based learning opportunities, and job placement of students into workforce.</p> <ul> <li>Manages the program advisory board(s) </li><li>Defines learning objectives, prepares and teaches classes, creates a student-oriented learning environment, and evaluates student learning in assigned courses </li><li>Engages in curriculum and course development </li><li>Serves as academic advisor </li><li>Serves on college committees and participates in other college activities </li><li>Must be available to teach day, evenings, weekends, and on and off-campus classes in person and online </li><li>Assists in the recruitment, training and support of adjunct instructors within teaching field. </li><li>May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor </li></ul> <p>Instructional faculty must reside in the state of Virginia or be available to teach in-person classes at one of the Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) locations (Main Campus, Lebanon, Bluefield, Southern Gap).</p> <p>Special Assignments</p> <p>May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
