<p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center</p> <p>Report In Location: 2 Maritime Plaza, Toledo, Ohio 43604</p> <p>Work Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM</p> <p>At the direction of the Public Safety Intelligence Manager within the Narcotics Intelligence Center (NIC), collect, organize & analyze data, review & analyze problems & information related to potential threats & develop research tools &/or means used in analyzing & disseminating intelligence information & create & implement sophisticated &/or complex criminal & terrorist related analytical products & policies:</p> <ul> <li>Develop proper research tools, methods & intelligence request forms to appropriately accommodate intelligence information; </li><li>Identify & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets & reports allowing information to be easily exchanged & understood; </li><li>Prepare intelligence reports, products, & briefings for presentation to all public safety partners; </li><li>Coordinate interstate & intrastate information; </li><li>Provide operational guidance to partners; </li><li>Maintain association with & facilitates exchange of information between federal, state & local law enforcement agencies & taskforces for disposition of criminal activity &/or intelligence information on criminal activity (e.g., narcotic trafficking, illegal dark web activity); </li><li>Collect, research & analyze intelligence information & other resources to determine patterns, trends & movements of criminals to aid law enforcement agencies with investigations; </li><li>Coordinate research activities with other departmental units &/or outside agencies; </li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable federal statutes & Ohio Revised Code (ORC); </li><li>Assist in reviewing & recommending intelligence &/or analytical related software & hardware equipment; </li><li>Create sophisticated &/or complex criminal & narcotic related policies; </li><li>Formulate & implement plans, policies, & procedures for the receipt of locally & federally generated time sensitive threat information (e.g., policies & protocols for state & local governmental entities in the State of Ohio) in order to: assess local implications of time-sensitive & emerging threat information; </li><li>Identify the dissemination of time sensitive & emerging threat information to all law enforcement, homeland security partners & other related public safety disciplines; </li><li>Gather locally generated information (e.g., criminal activity, suspicious activity reporting) based on time sensitive & emerging threats; </li><li>Independently review & analyze problems related to sophisticated criminal &/or complex organized crime-related activity from agency personnel & other intelligence units. </li><li>Maintain common operating picture for the State of Ohio including overall threats, hazards, & response operations throughout the state &/or nation as resources are deployed; </li><li>Support information & intelligence gathering situational awareness reports; </li><li>Support incident specific briefing to senior agency leadership & others as directed; </li><li>Review correspondence, directives & reports to ensure accuracy & completeness; </li><li>Analyze trends that may indicate potential need for state involvement & asset deployment; </li><li>Conduct special analytical studies to support the agency; </li><li>Serve as resource person & technical advisor (e.g., responds to requests for information; represents agency in meetings) in area of criminal intelligence & public safety; </li><li>Schedule, coordinate &/or conduct classes, seminars & conferences; </li><li>Assist with office-related tasks as they pertain to the functionality & operation of the NIC; </li><li>Respond to the Hub, State Fusion Center, or Emergency Operations Center during critical incidents; </li><li>Represent the NIC at meetings & conferences; </li><li>Cross-train job duties with Homeland Security & Criminal Intelligence; </li><li>Utilize state vehicle to travel to various locations with required job-related equipment (e.g., laptop, surveillance equipment, etc.) in order to collect, research & analyze intelligence information & other resources to determine patterns & trends of illegal dark web drug activity &/or professional criminals to assist law enforcement agencies &/or taskforces & public safety agencies with investigations & the mitigation of public safety incidents; </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>36 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.</p> <ul> <li>Or completion of undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field; 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques. </li><li>Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. </li></ul> <p>Job Skill: Public Safety</p> <p>Technical Skills: Public Safety</p> <p>Professional Skills: Analyzation;
