<p>Job Title: Echocardiographer</p> <p>Location: Jersey City Medical Center</p> <p>Department Name: Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab</p> <p>Req #: 0000228248</p> <p>Status: Hourly</p> <p>Shift: Evening</p> <p>Pay Range: $59.65 - $59.65 per hour</p> <p>Pay Transparency:</p> <p>The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.</p> <p>The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>Performs echocardiograms with doppler and color flow analysis to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent </li><li>Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology required </li></ul> <p>Certifications and Licenses Required:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care provider course completion through American Heart Association </li><li>Current RDCS/RCS Certification </li></ul> <p>Scheduling Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Flex Schedule </li><li>Coverage for day, evening and weekend shifts </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Assumes ECHO charge role and functions effectively. </li></ul> <p>Charging:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates competency by accurately charging patient for procedures performed. </li></ul> <p>Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates competency by transmitting pertinent patient information to appropriate individual (i.e., MD, supervisor, nurse, discharge planner, etc.) </li><li>Complies with and departmental scheduling guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Contrast:</p> <ul> <li>Performs echo with contrast. </li></ul> <p>Critical Tests and Results:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates competency by communicating results to RN and Physician. </li></ul> <p>Doppler:</p> <ul> <li>Obtains Doppler recordings of heart. </li></ul> <p>Echo Machine:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates understanding and maintenance of echo. </li><li>Implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and NICL. </li></ul> <p>Pain Management:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates competency by reporting patient's pain intensity to staff nurse. </li><li>Participates in training new employees and students. </li></ul> <p>Patient Education:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates competency by providing patient/family education regarding test being performed. </li></ul> <p>Probe Closet:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates competency by routinely ensuring probes are present and hanging correctly in closet. </li></ul> <p>Protocols:</p> <ul> <li>Performs echo procedures in accordance with ICAEL standards and protocol. </li></ul> <p>Choosing RWJBarnabas Health!</p> <p>RWJBarnabas Health is the premier health care destination providing patient-centered, high-quality academic medicine in a compassionate and equitable manner, while delivering a best-in-class work experience to every member of the team.
