Be the difference.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Works under Prisma Health Ambulance Service with daily direction from the on-duty charge nurse and attending Physician. Assesses and treats patients according to clinical operating guidelines. Serves as a member of the Healthcare team through active communication; documentation; feedback and assistance as needed or requested. Provides for patient safety. Attend meetings and in-services as required by departmental policy. Contributes to the growth and development of self and department. Maintains an active involvement. Maintains good working relationship with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and other hospital staff. Maintains competence with charting system.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.</p> </li><li> <p>Collects data and completes patient's orders utilizing appropriate area and/or age specific standards/policies and tools. Completes appropriate forms.</p> </li><li> <p>Assesses and recognizes subtle or actual changes in patients' status and patient response to intervention.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies patient priorities for patient plan of care and validates these priorities with the healthcare team members and documents appropriately.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs specific tasks based on organizational, departmental and/or unit policies and procedures within the Paramedic scope of practice.</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes responsibility for patient safety by maintaining a safe environment to include awareness of safety procedures, protocols and adherence to patient care standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides care based on patient and unit priorities, coordinating and organizing tasks as appropriate, utilizing known resources internal and external to the unit.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes appropriate technology in daily practice (EHR, Pyxis, Telemetry, Emergency equipment).</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies/assesses patient/family learning needs</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends meetings and in services as required by departmental policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities</p> <p>This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education - Certification Program.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience - One (1) year of experience as a field paramedic with an EMS agency and/or clinical experience in a hospital.</p> </li></ul> <p>In Lieu Of</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses</p> <ul> <li> <p>Paramedic, State and National Registry Certified</p> </li><li> <p>BLS/BCLS-Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification</p> </li><li> <p>ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification</p> </li><li> <p>PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge and skills for State Medical Board Approved Medications for Credentialed Paramedics</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and skills for State Medical Board Approved Skills for Credentialed Paramedics</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Variable (United States of America)</p> <p>Location</p> <p>Richland</p> <p>Facility</p> <p>1510 Richland Hospital</p> <p>Department</p> <p>15106780 Emergency Department</p> <p>Share your talent with us!
