<p>Various part-time flexible hours available.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 14 years of age </li><li>Must be able to demonstrate/explain the skills to be learned by participants </li><li>Must enjoy working with youth and adults </li><li>Demonstrate the movements and fundamental skills associated with a sport or other outdoor recreation activity such as baseball, basketball, canoeing, gymnastics, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, etc. in a way that is age group appropriate </li><li>Assist with the set-up and take down of the activity area and the proper storage of all equipment associated with the activity </li><li>Communicate the basic techniques, rules, and proper use of equipment needed for conducting the specific activity </li><li>Foster an understanding and appreciation of the different levels of maturity and skills between the program participants even with children of the same age </li><li>Assist the Supervisor/Coordinator with recruiting coaches </li><li>Interact with program participants, families, and coaches in a positive and enthusiastic way </li><li>Assist the Supervisor/Coordinator with resolving potential conflicts between coaches, parents, program participants, and other staff members in a courteous manner </li><li>Assist the Supervisor in ensuring the safety and well being of program participants, coaches, and staff </li><li>Work independently as well as in a team atmosphere </li><li>Attend staff meetings, orientation, and training sessions as required </li><li>Assist with program registration and revenue collection along as needed </li><li>Contact the Supervisor, Recreation Coordinator or Department Director in the case of an accident/injury to a program participant, coach, staff member, or other person(s) related to the program and activate EMS as needed </li><li>Report any vandalism, graffiti, or other problems observed at a program facility </li><li>Advise the Supervisor, Recreation Coordinator or Department Director of any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s), or any activity generally considered to be unwholesome or illegal </li><li>Other related tasks as assigned </li><li>Previous experience in planning, coordinating, and conducting sports or other youth program activities in an organizational setting </li><li>First Aid/CPR certification </li></ul>
