<p>Client Overview:</p> <p>Our client is a government financing authority that provides low-cost funding to local municipalities and counties for critical infrastructure projects. They issue bonds to support initiatives that may not receive direct state funding, helping communities complete large-scale improvements such as environmental and public works projects. They are now looking for a Senior Accountant.</p> <p>Salary/Hourly Rate:</p> <p>$35/hr - $40/hr</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Senior Accountant will support the finance team on an 8-month temporary assignment covering a maternity leave. The role includes a structured training period alongside the current employee, followed by full responsibility during their absence. This position will play a key role in maintaining daily accounting operations and supporting two concurrent audits.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and post journal entries. </li><li>Perform account reconciliations and financial analysis. </li><li>Assist with month-end and general accounting processes. </li><li>Support audit activities, including preparation of schedules and documentation. </li><li>Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records. </li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of basic accounting principles. </li><li>Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis. </li><li>Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, especially during audit periods. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in government or nonprofit accounting environments. </li><li>Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics (preferred but not required). </li><li>Advanced Excel skills such as Index/Match. </li><li>Experience supporting or participating in audits. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Atrium Care Package available, upon eligibility. </li></ul>
