<p>Job Specifications/Qualifications</p> <p>Basic computer skill requires</p> <p>One year clerical experience preferred</p> <p>Experience in a health care setting preferred</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</p> <p>This position does not require any certifications/ licenses/registries</p> <p>Education</p> <p>High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</p> <p>Maintains patient chart/record</p> <ul> <li>Ensures that required forms are replenished daily and prn in patient charts. </li><li>Reviews charts daily for correct patient identification and proper order of forms. </li><li>Accurately processes orders, charges and patient information in to the computer. </li><li>Prepares patient charts for Medical Records Department on discharge patients. </li></ul> <p>Performs clerical and receptionist duties.</p> <ul> <li>Ensures an appropriate level of forms, supplies and equipment on a daily basis, as </li></ul> <p>indicated by availability to staff.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains clean and neat work area. </li><li>Facilitates the procurement, storage and return of past medical records. </li><li>Demonstrates competency in using the computer system. (I.e. physician orders, supplies, ancillary service requests and appointment. </li><li>Answers telephone/call lights promptly using appropriate communication skills to screen calls, record and route calls and messages to appropriate department(s) </li><li>Responds appropriately to patent and family request. </li></ul> <p>Supportive Services</p> <ul> <li>Acts as a courier between the unit/department and other ancillary departments as needed to meet daily unit/department requirements. </li><li>Informs appropriate department of defective equipment. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of role in emergency situations and reacts appropriately. </li></ul> <p>Professional Performance</p> <ul> <li>Learns and practices cost effective use of supplies. </li><li>Utilizes available communication tools (e-mail, staff meetings, and bulletin boards) toremain informed. </li><li>Consistently demonstrates that new knowledge and skills gained from education are incorporated into actual practice. </li><li>Completes 100% of required staff education classes. </li><li>Attends 80% of the staff meetings. </li><li>Shares knowledge and expertise with nursing staff and other members of the health </li></ul> <p>care team.</p>
