<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Works well in a team environment following cGMPs to ensure product quality by monitoring of manufacturing environments and systems, execution of microbiological tests on products and raw materials, and maintaining a compliant laboratory structure.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>This position is considered full time, 40-hour per week on average, position on a daily basis. Follows all policies, procedures, SOPs, cGMPS, Work Instructions, and supervisor instructions. This duty is performed daily, about 100% of the time. </li><li>Prepare and sterilize media and supplies. </li><li>Prepare and maintain stock cultures and/or suspensions. </li><li>Perform growth-promotion testing on media. </li><li>Collect samples for microbiological analysis to include Surface Swabs, Viable Air, and Water samples. Process samples, read, and interpret results. </li><li>Perform preliminary screening of microorganisms to include: Use of selective media; preparation, gramstaining and reading of slides; other screening tests. </li><li>Identify bacteria to genus and species level. </li><li>May be further trained to perform Antibiotic Assay. </li><li>Assist in the training of new personnel. </li><li>Prepare purchase authorizations for ordering supplies as needed. </li><li>Participate in laboratory housekeeping; clean glassware. </li><li>Properly document all laboratory activities. </li><li>Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.
