Be a part of our team of healthcare heroes and discover why Catholic Health was named Long Island's Top Workplace.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Our Central Sterile Technician will:</p> <ul> <li>Be responsible for decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of reusable instrumentation and equipment according to established department policies and procedures. </li><li>Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination. </li><li>Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality. </li><li>Identify malfunctioning items, records related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer. </li><li>Communicate with perioperative staff regarding related instrument needs. </li><li>Transport sterile supplies to assigned surgical and clinical locations. </li><li>Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels. </li><li>Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment. </li><li>Document and maintain records of daily activities according to department policies and procedures. </li><li>Adhere to AORN, AAMI and Joint Commission standards (e.g. biological, chemical and mechanical monitoring) in the performance of duties. </li></ul> <p>What you'll bring:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience processing surgical instruments/Central Sterile experience preferred </li><li>Education: High School Diploma or GED required </li><li>Certification: CRCST required </li><li>Will consider candidates without certification, however, certification must be completed within 1 year of employment </li></ul> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>USD $30.51 - USD $38.14 /Hr.</p> <p>This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
