<p>WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are looking for a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for the purposes of internal and external reporting and compliance.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise finance/accounting staff </li><li>Propose accounting process improvements </li><li>Recommend, implement, and maintain accounting policies and controls </li><li>Work with accounting firm to prepare annual tax returns </li><li>Prepare financial statements and regulatory information including divisional schedules and/or statements </li><li>Plan and implement annual audits with independent external auditors </li><li>Assist FP&A team with any accounting data requests </li><li>File timely financial regulatory reports </li><li>Manage accounting for endowment and other financial assets </li><li>FCC Compliance Officer </li></ul> <p>SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Mastery of accounting principles as it relates to financial reporting and GAAP </li><li>Organized and detail oriented </li><li>Expert user of Microsoft Excel and other office products </li><li>Oracle NetSuite proficiency preferred but not required </li><li>Solutions-oriented mindset </li><li>Customer-service oriented </li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally and across various levels of management </li><li>Flexibility in work schedule; 3 days in office minimum </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>5 years or more of supervisory experience </li><li>7 years or more of accounting/finance experience with at least 5 years of experience in a controller capacity </li><li>Media and/or content company experience preferred </li><li>Non-profit experience required </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in accounting.
