<p>About the Role:</p> <p>The Operations Manager plays a vital role in the daily success of our local College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving franchise. This leader is responsible for the execution of operations, team development, and client satisfaction. We're especially seeking individuals with backgrounds in leadership and public service-retired or former law enforcement professionals are strongly encouraged to apply! Your ability to lead with authority, communicate with respect, prioritize safety, and maintain high standards aligns perfectly with our mission and team culture.</p> <p>This position includes, but is not limited to, the following:</p> <p>Operations:</p> <ul> <li>Create, refine, and implement operational processes that drive consistency and efficiency </li><li>Conduct Welcome/Confirmation calls to clients </li><li>Investigate and resolve damage claims quickly and professionally </li><li>Manage moving labor and staffing to align with performance goals </li><li>Schedule crew shifts and maintain effective coverage </li><li>Input and monitor daily performance metrics </li><li>Oversee truck and equipment check-in/out procedures </li><li>Order and manage marketing supplies </li><li>Manage end-of-day shop closing procedures </li><li>Ensure all operations comply with safety and legal standards </li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, punctuality, and operational excellence </li></ul> <p>People:</p> <ul> <li>Hire, train, and develop team members to meet and exceed business goals </li><li>Coach team members in the areas of sales, customer service, safety, problem-solving, and project management </li><li>Lead by example and build a culture aligned with the company's mission and core values </li><li>Identify and grow future leaders within the team </li><li>Promote a respectful, honest, and team-oriented workplace </li></ul> <p>Marketing & Partnerships:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain partnerships with complementary local businesses </li><li>Attend networking and professional organization events (e.g., NAPO, NASMM) </li><li>Oversee and coach sales team members </li><li>Promote brand visibility through community engagement and local events </li><li>Support implementation of local marketing campaigns </li></ul> <p>Finance & Strategy:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the business to budget and financial targets </li><li>Review and analyze monthly P&L reports and communicate insights to leadership </li><li>Identify areas for operational improvement based on financial and performance data </li><li>Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategy as needed </li><li>Structure scalable systems and tools that support sustainable growth </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or relevant experience. </li><li>Ideally 3 years' experience leading and managing decentralized teams in the field (eg moving, logistics, home services, etc.), OR relevant field leadership such as shift commander, lieutenant, captain, major, or similar. </li><li>Proven track record in Sales, Marketing, and Operational Management preferred. </li><li>Confident and proactive communicator; must be able to manage positive relationships with clients and team members </li><li>Must possess the ability to make informed, data-based decisions and adapt to challenges on the fly. </li><li>Must be safety and liability conscious. </li><li>Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to drive process and strategy adoption amongst the team. </li><li>Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. </li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work positively/effectively with people at all levels. </li><li>Self-disciplined, results-driven, and capable of working independently. </li><li>Retired or former law enforcement professionals are strongly encouraged to apply: We value the leadership, integrity, safety-first mindset, and respected authority that professionals from this background bring to our team environment.
