Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Communicates and interacts with co-workers. Technicians are responsible for the documentation, completion, and keeping the work orders for all repairs and parts used daily. The position will be required to perform road call services as needed.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/ repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units) as well as, identifying root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required </li><li>Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition which may require replacement of parts </li><li>Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as "roadworthy" </li><li>Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system </li><li>Install, replace, and repair onboard computers </li><li>Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists </li><li>Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery requiring the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists </li><li>Train other employees </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Performance Food Group and/or its subsidiaries (individually or collectively, the "Company") provides equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all applicants and employees, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Please click on the following links to review: (1) our EEO Policy; (2) the "EEO is the Law" poster and supplement; and (3) the Pay Transparency Policy Statement.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent</p> <p>Required Experience: 5 - 7 Years</p> <p>5+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and a minimum of 2 years' experience in A/C refrigeration.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Preferred Education: Associates/2-Year Technical</p> <p>3+ year's experience working on Thermo King or Carrier reefer units. 608 certified. Must have specialized training and experience in the overhaul of refrigeration components. Proficiency in the use of all necessary tools of trade is required.</p> <p>Preferred Experience: 7 - 10 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and a minimum of 2 years' experience in A/C Refrigeration.</p> <p>Preferred Professional Certification(s): Tire & wheel, brakes, AC and/or EPA, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines, ASE Heavy Duty</p>
