<p>INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Intern (AGACNP student currently enrolled or newly graduated) to join our team. With this ECMO team, you will experience be a part of critically ill patient care, delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver exceptional patient care.</p> <p>In this high acuity area, you will be on a team who:</p> <ul> <li>Provides comprehensive care in a CVICU and/or Transplant ICU setting, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of critically ill patients. </li><li>Manages patient care through daily rounds, formulating care plans, placing orders, adjusting treatment plans, and performing various procedures. </li><li>Work closely with heart failure, CT surgery, vascular surgery, and transplant specialists in managing complex patient populations. </li><li>Manages a diverse range of conditions, including heart failure, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, MCS devices (VAD, Impella, IABP, VV and/or VA ECMO), and transplant patients (heart, lung, kidney, liver, pancreas). </li></ul> <p>The specialty critical care team is highly respected and provides high acuity care for the transplant, LVAD, ECMO and advanced heart failure populations. All applicants will receive consideration regardless of membership in any protected status as defined by applicable state or federal law, including protected veteran or disability status.</p> <p>The Advanced Practice Nurse Intern (APN-I) responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Assesses the health status, illness conditions, response to illness, and health risks of patients </li><li>Operationalizes cost effectiveness and efficiency of provided services by active, on-going review of total cost of care for patients </li><li>Is aware of and assists staff in awareness and understanding of Quality Measures and works collaboratively to continually improve patient outcomes </li><li>Assists in the implementation and evaluation of nursing care activities through a continuing process of research and collaboration with various health team disciplines </li><li>Provides patient information regarding self-care instructions, normal anatomy and physiology, personal hygiene, preventative health care </li><li>Collaborates with the physician in the assigned practice setting, attending physicians, nursing and support staff and other members of the health team </li><li>Maintains timely documentation of the patient assessment and communicates with healthcare team to facilitate changes to the plan of care. </li><li>Additional specific specialty requirements may be identified by service line. </li><li>The Advanced Practice Nurse Intern (APN-I) reports to the Director of Research/EBP/Quality/ Advance practice nursing &/or assigned Physician. Additional reporting may be in place in individual service lines and/or based on organizational structure. See service line specific structures for additional information. </li><li>This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. Constant exposure to contaminating, infectious and communicable diseases including blood borne pathogens. Radiation exposure is present. Exposure to violence in physical threats and attacks from emotionally unstable patient or family members. </li><li>All applicants will receive consideration regardless of membership in any protected status as defined by applicable state or federal law, including protected veteran or disability status. </li><li>Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Minimum of 3 years experience in appropriate clinical specialty. </li><li>Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state </li><li>National Certification preferred, required within 6 months of hire. </li><li>Must have APRN education completed within 4 years of hiring anniversary. </li><li>3 years registered nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting required </li><li>Current Healthcare provider BLS certification required </li><li>Current ACLS certification if working with adults required in acute care environments. </li><li>Current PALS certification if working with children required in acute care environments. </li><li>Current NRP certification if working with neonates required </li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written) </li></ul>
