<p>Responsible for maintenance and repair of audio and video technology in 80+high-tech learning spaces including standard technology classrooms, auditoriums and Flex spaces. Provides timely technical support and troubleshooting for faculty, staff and student end-users. Install lifecycle replacements and upgrades, reviewing specifications, and compatibility of various products. Understands the construction and renovation process and knows how to read wiring diagrams and schematics. Regularly, does lifting, bending, utilizes power tools including crimping CAT-6 cable. Understands computer hardware and software, wireless presenting, digital sound and video format. Assists with campus event setups</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Assist instructors and troubleshoot problems with the technology learning spaces at the South City, Airport and Westpointe campuses. Answer customer inquiries and provide customer assistance, training, and other information about the technology. </li><li>Work with the classroom technology support team on system-wide projects relating to the use of instructional technology. Projects may include design of new technology spaces, construction, renovation, lifecycle upgrades of existing spaces, and purchases of AV supplies, cables and connectors. </li><li>Maintain inventory records including model numbers, serial numbers, Mac addresses, IP addresses and other data. Regularly review equipment for functionality and document all repairs. Send obsolete equipment to surplus when necessary. </li><li>Hire, train and onboard new workers. Provide hands-on supervision and leadership critiquing their work. </li><li>Work closely with event staff to provide equipment and assistance. This role is typically a backup for events, however at times this position must be the primary. </li><li>Other duties as assigned based on OIT or AV needs </li></ul> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Three (3) years related paid work experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Associate degree in electronics is preferred.</p> <p>AV installation experience and industry certification is also desired.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with electronics, current AV systems, signal flows, display and sound technology. </li><li>Ability to operate and maintain instructional technology, troubleshoot, install and replace items in a timely manner. </li><li>Strong communication and customer service skills are required. </li><li>Must know how to prioritize tasks and when necessary, find work-around solutions for clients. </li><li>Work under minimum supervision. </li><li>Understand campus, state and other policies and procedures and demonstrate good organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. </li><li>Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties Special Instructions</p> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
