<p>The EMS instructor is responsible for instructing and managing all educational activities of the Paramedic classes.</p> <ul> <li>Managing all educational activities of the course. </li><li>Arrives to class on time and assures that students are present at the start of class. </li><li>Assures adherence to applicable accreditation commission requirements, to include daily lesson plans, test validity, reliability, and difficulty of question (KR20) program policy and procedure, and program's curricula. </li><li>Monitors student progress, to include grades, attendance, and behaviors, conducts student progress reports, conducts student orientation, and advises students throughout the program. </li><li>Teaches both didactic and laboratory classes within the Program Curriculum. </li><li>Assure that all equipment is in working order prior to and following class. This is defined as fixing, ordering parts, or notifying the program director of the need to repair. </li><li>Responds to all student questions in a timely manner. </li><li>Coordinate with adjunct instructors as needed. </li><li>Coordinate with EMS Clinical Coordinator for didactic education. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>State of Iowa Paramedic certificate </li><li>Associate degree or higher </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands of Essential Functions:</p> <p>Normal Office </p> <p>Very heavy work (lift over 50 lbs.)</p> <p>Other physical requirements (note):</p> <ul> <li>The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment </li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear </li><li>Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle. </li></ul> <p>Cognitive Requirements:  (as presently performed to accomplish essential functions)</p> <p>Reading, Writing, Calculating</p> <p>Social Interaction Skills</p> <p>Reasoning/Analysis</p> <p>Works with Minimal Supervision</p> <p>Other Cognitive Requirements (note):</p>
