Check out this great opportunity with the State of Connecticut!</p> <p>The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is recruiting for an Engineer Trainee for the Bureau of Air Management. This position will be located within the Planning & Standards Division's Data Management Group at 9 Windsor Ave., Windsor, CT.</p> <p>The target class for this position is Air Pollution Control Engineer 1. Engineer Trainees receive training under the direction of a supervisor and senior staff before being promoted to Air Pollution Control Engineer 1 upon successful completion of the training period.</p> <p>POSITION DETAILS</p> <p>This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position on first shift. Schedule is Monday-Friday, with hybrid work opportunities available.</p> <p>Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in assembly of complex data sets and apply statistical analysis tools for data analysis, transformation, reduction and validation while maintaining strict data integrity. </li><li>Assist in interpretation and application of state and federal environmental statutes, regulations and associated guidance in the area of air quality monitoring and planning. </li><li>Apply software-based tools to perform various engineering analyses, visualizations and transformations of raw air monitoring data. </li><li>Assist in preparing engineering studies, documents and plans. </li><li>Assist in preparing air quality data reports for management, the public, and for submittal to the federal government; </li><li>Assist in performing reviews, evaluations and updates of quality control procedures for calibration, operation and auditing of air pollution monitoring equipment. </li><li>May assist in performing studies of effectiveness of air pollution monitoring equipment and instruments with respect to data quality. </li><li>May assist in performing quality assurance certification for calibration equipment in accordance with accepted standards traceability protocol. </li><li>Salary Note: Upon successful completion of one year in this class, incumbents will receive a pay increase to $67,343/year. </li></ul> <p>ABOUT US</p> <p>CT DEEP is charged with conserving, protecting, and improving Connecticut's natural resources and environment as well as making clean, reliable, and affordable energy available for the people and businesses of the state.
