<p>Lead Process Engineer - Battery Recycling</p> <p>Location: BMC/Carson City, Ridgeville, South Carolina, Full-Time | Onsite</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>We are in the early design stage of our next battery recycling plant and seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join the team. This is a fast-moving, high-impact project. We're targeting build and commissioning in under a year, with big equipment and serious engineering challenges. You'll be part of a small, highly capable team that's driving this from concept to operation-hands-on and end-to-end.</p> <p>What You'll Be Responsible For</p> <ul> <li>Full ownership of process design, including the process model, mass and energy balance and all related design documentation </li><li>Flowsheet development and optimization </li><li>Specifying, sizing, and selecting process equipment </li><li>Integration with other processing assets to extract maximum product value </li><li>Rapidly iterating to solve process challenges with creative and technically sound solutions </li><li>Communicating designs early and clearly across the team </li><li>Work with and guiding testwork to parameterize, de-risk and optimize the design </li><li>Develop commissioning and operational readiness and take a leading role in commissioning and ramp up </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li>Someone who will proactively jump into problems; identify the key challenges and frame the analysis/tests necessary to solve! </li><li>Someone who is always curious: you're not afraid to ask lots of questions so that you know the system inside out </li><li>Someone who is looking to take the next step in their career in a key project leadership position </li><li>Strong working knowledge of: mechanical processing, material conveyance and solid/liquid separation plant and equipment </li><li>Experience in process engineering design and commissioning </li><li>B.S. or M.S. in Chemical or Process Engineering </li><li>5+ years in industrial process design, scale-up, and commissioning </li><li></li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments </li><li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed </li><li>Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards </li><li>Must be able to communicate clearly </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Split work environment between office and the production facility </li><li>Work may involve extended periods of working in the production facility </li><li>Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time </li><li>May require occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs </li></ul>
